Omicron. Swell. Just fucking swell.
CDC for what these jokers are worth. They say that New York, and 'Jersey have the highest COVID/Omicron infection rate in the country. Like at the start when we were Ground Zero. See the Navy Hospital Ship "Comfort" entering our harbor back then.
I have a war weariness. What do you call PTSD when the war is not over, but still beginning? I really want out of these trenches. It seems nothing not science alternate health options quack cures or fanatics have anything for anybody. It's a plague, and that's that.
In elder times when plagues were more common. That, and wiped-out towns cities even nations. Folks fell back on faith. Gawd would fix shit. Still to this day.
A dear pal said that a relative once did just this. Sometime in the 1960's she walked on her knees up the steps of a cathedral. Praying for a child to be cured. In that case it worked. Well, that or the kid's immune system kicked in. Take ya pick.
Me, well bleep it. I'll just do what I'm doing. Sitting tight masking up keeping distance. Even though I read in rational 'zines like Atlantic the Nation sites like Slate. Even if triple vaxed there's a possibility by this more powerful variant to get infected. Like from da start it depends.
Despite the attacks against them in some parts of the City. COVID test tents, and Vaccination buses, and vans are doing brisk business. Not so much I read elsewhere. In some Red States There's serious trouble.
Hospitals there overwhelmed. Yet the locals remain enraged at the idea this is real, and they need to be jabbed. Traces of this delusion even in Fortress New York.
As I posted yesterday. I found myself tearing down anti-Vax posters. These saying that teachers should refuse the Vaccine. This to prevent government control of kids. Fear, and rage our old friends. One stands in awe of the utter madness of the mob mentality.
These who burned books burned witches hunted runaway slaves hung Blacks murdered Queers defaced Synagogues, and now attack nurses, and doctors. This for the crime of trying to save lives.
Last night I was listening to some sermons by Dr. Martin Luther King. The core message was we should refrain from hating. No matter the injustice inflicted. He said this again, and again, and again. This through his years of speeches sermons, and conversations.
Just that simple message.
"...Do not Hate."
He urged us all to do this vastly complicated simple thing.
Bless you all.
