Okay so here’s some numbers. In this case Methodist’s Hospital Houston Texas. Omicron hospitalizations last Saturday was 13% Wednesday 32% this Friday 45%. Today it’s estimated at 63%. That last figure not yet finalized.

However nationally I just saw online: Associated Press “…Omicron is now 73% of COVID cases.” ...here in NYC, it's 90%. The American surge is well underway.

Half of those in the Methodist Hospital sample are people triple vaxed. This locally very likely includes me. I haven’t got around to taking the home test kit. However, I have all the Omicron symptoms.

So there it is.

This is just the start of the American surge. In Europe the figures are extreme. Despite this there are mass demos. Folks furious at having their lives disturbed by government…any government for any reason. These want a halt to all enforced vaccination. Same as here. 

The irony many now infected did everything they were supposed to do for two years. Even Vaxed up. However, this Fifth Wave is the strongest yet. Massively more infectious. As I posted further below. It’s tearing through the vaccines like Panzers through the Brits, and French at Dunkirk.

What worked before does not work now.

We were right to follow First/Second Wave instructions. These saved lives. Now it’s different. Like in war the enemy has changed tactics, and broke through our lines. However, as what’s his name said: “This is not the end, but it’s for damned sure the end of the beginning.”

Shit has got yet more interesting.
