  1. I once saw Boy George perform in person. He did an appearance at Tower Records in San Francisco (the one on Market Street, not the older branch on Columbus Ave). He stood behind plate glass windows on the second floor while we the hoi polloi watched craning upward from the sidewalk below. He is of course an excellent singer. Backing him up was a terrific guitarist playing a steel string acoustic. He sang Karma Chameleon, and acknowledged that the song had paid for his ha-ouse.

  2. The only musical celeb I personally met spoke to was Michael Jackson. This in the early 80's. I was engineering a broadcast remote where he was a guest. Seems he made a point to thank the techs. Others never did. They walked past us like we weren't there. Michael was the only one. I mean the-only-one. He was cool.
