"...night of nights"

Rain blinding. A roar like a river.
Drumming on the roof. The power blinked.
Storm Ida is here.

Williamsburg Brooklyn above.

This popped up on my screen..."The National Weather Service * Flash Flood Warning for...Bronx County...Kings (Brooklyn) County ...(Manhattan) County...Queens County...Rockland County...Western Suffolk County...Westchester County...* At 859 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain. *Flash flooding is already occurring... HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding. NWS 859 PM EDT."

The damned wonks low balled it.
We got 7 to 12+
Lower areas had parts of blocks three feet.
Sadly folks drowned.
Some subway platforms tunnels, and trains
partly or totally under water.
This was deeper than Storm Sandy in some parts.

  2. We got 7 to 12 inches of rain in a few hours.
Depending on what street you live on.

Basically an apocalypse. Water deeper in many places than storm Sandy. Near 20 perished a number missing infrastructure fucked. Subway tunnels some flooded as with Sandy,...under water.

It was the loudest storm in my life. It was like being under a water fall. It roared. If the wind had been high this place would have been wiped out.

    Everywhere flooded including my building.
No power for most of the day. No hot water. It was a short event, but destructive. More rain in four hours than all of July, and August. Toss in June I'd say.

Like in Sandy After Ida all the talking head are saying we have to prepare for 100 year storms twice a year now. They did that as I say after Sandy,...then forgot. They went back to bullshit stealing trivia, and fear mongering. That's where the money is.

  3. New York: it's the Place To Be.

Sorry; couldn't resist. You should have sent half that rain *here.* We could use it to clean up the atmosphere, put out the fires, fill the reservoirs and wash the human excrement off San Francisco city streets. Surely this could be arranged?
