"...308,557"

In the video below the National Cathedral bells rang 300 times for the Pandemic dead in this country. The CDC put it at 308,557 perished since February. More than all the U.S. combat deaths in WW2. The bells tolled once for each 1000 people perished.

To my knowledge this is the first official show of acknowledgment to what has happened to us. During #45's administration there was no observing of the deaths no words for the mourning. 

That administration dismissed the entire thing. The head of state saying, "...we should just get over it, and go back to work."
