~PAPER THEATER~ |
I used to do paper art stuff for a while.
I got cynical withdrawn, and generally nuts.
My gentle side eclipsed.
Lockdown hasn't helped.
Gentleness not replaced by meanness
I don't have much talent for that.
There's just an emptiness now.
It's like I'm waiting to be filled again.
The veil has been stripped away and we behold what was always there: the void. Now the whole world beholds it.
ReplyDeleteEverything is mostly nothing. Even an atom is 99.9999999999996% empty space.
ReplyDeleteHuman perception turns out to be in fact total fiction.
“If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern.”
― William Blake, "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell"
Sigh,...
ReplyDeleteI love paper theatres. I'd like to design and build them.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I gather the smoke from our Cali fires has reached NYC. I hope it's only up in the stratosphere, not down where you have to breathe it.
This is the first day of clean air here in over a month. Until now, I haven't been able to leave the house for at least thirty days. It's far worse than the lockdown; you can't go out *at all*. This is true house arrest: especially if you have a pre-existing lung condition, which I do. I feel quite bitter about having lost so much of the summer. But I also feel very grateful to have clean oxygen at fucking last.
Stay cool.
