This being Memorial Day weekend. A time when we're supposed to reflect on courage sacrifice, and yes death.

So we remember our War Dead,...everyone's War Dead.

That, and all those who have died or are at this moment struggling with the Virus. As a victim or a relation.
I was raised in one of the oldest Christian traditions. However despite the baggage there were bright moments.
As when in fourth grade Sister Alice told us:

"...Life is a prayer. Your lives are one long prayer."

Like Whitman's life long poem.
At heart I always felt the Christian tradition without the 2000 years of blood, and iron is Buddhism 2.0
...as it may have been originally intended.

Here's version of a comment I posted on my FB pal Di's page.

"Being Christian I mean actually trying to follow the original idea is difficult. It calls for courage in the face of persecution. To be patient, and caring for all around you. The ability to see the Divine in the total jerks standing around you.

Men used it to inflect 2000 years of blood, and iron.
However being an actual Christian. Is to be mostly apart of any of it's accreted confused, and violent dogmas.
These are just 2000 years of accumulated political tribal outbursts.

The Christian path is spiritually related in some ways to Buddhism.

The actual tradition comes from the heart,...it's a life affirming calling. I don't know if any divinity is involved. I do know you have to mean it if you follow that path. ...it's extreme simplicity is not easy.

  1. Christianity is Judaism 2 just as Islam is Judaism 3.
Buddhism has no gods and no commandments. The Buddha is dead. He said what you don't discover for yourself isn't valid. Don't accept anything based on belief. In Buddhism there is no one to worship and no one telling you how to live.
This Judaic skygod is a curse projected from the most psychotic of human delusions! Even in Hinduism the gods are in the human realm as were the gods of pagan Greece.
    The god is Dionysus.

  2. As I said I don't know if there are any divinities involved,...and I don't. In any case these if any are around is besides the point.

The core christain values are just warmed over Buddhism.
We have this life, and that's it. Make use of it by being kind thoughtful generous laugh alot, and try to get laid as much as possible,...then die, and feed the earth.
