I listen to classical music all the time. Thank Zeus there's a classical station here; most US cities these days lack one.

ReplyDeleteTime was classical stations on both AM, and FM were standard in cities large, and small. College towns as well.
However now these are rare.
NYC had at it's height five...count'em 'Five' Classical radio stations. That, and audiences big enough to need all of them.
My own disturbed public station was a partial classical station in it's early history. 1950's through mid-late 1960's. Later there were surviving hold-out programs, and special all day programs.
Wagner Day ran for 50 years before it's plug was pulled.
I was an engineer for many classical programs. These often with live musicians performing. I even hosted a classical program early in my on air career. I called it "...You Heard Right".
...and they did.
