In a recent video, Trump is seen smiling and joking after a supporter at the rally yelled that Border Patrol should 'shoot' migrants at the border. The supporter's yell was in response to Trump's question of how to deal with migrants when the US can't use violence.

He admitted privately to Joe he didn't believe it, but it works for the base.
So he used, and still uses it...even though he recanted after elected he recently took it up again,...it works.
Today I read he made an anti-racist statement due to the shootings,....I'm sure he doesn't really believe in that either.
He'll use whatever works.
He's not an ideological tyrant. More of a pragmatic sociopath.

Well I always mention the constant body count in ghettoes, and trailer parks. These are usually ignored by all media platforms like they ignore traffic accidents.
ReplyDeleteThese murders in slums, and trailer hells like those transit slaughters are just part of the cost of doing business.

ReplyDeleteThis sounds right. I live in a partly gentrified working, and middle class 'hood in NYC. It's considered "safe". By US urban standards it is.
ReplyDeleteYet five people were gunned down on my block last year. One murdered right downstairs in my building. This horrifies my Facebook friends. Those in safe civilized countries like New Zealand Denmark Australia, and Iceland.
They ask me if I'm armed or if I see bodies everyday outside of my home. No, but I do see sidewalk memorials all the time.
Those votive candle outposts so common to American communities of any size now.
I hear gunshots at night as well.
For years they went away, but they are very much back now.
The worst was in the 1990's. In 1993 NYC during the Crack wars had 3000+ murders. No one knows how many injured because they never told police,...no point.
Multiply this "safeness" by 50 states you have an actual undeclared civil war.
By the numbers. Physical violence committed on civilians, and the number of them killed by UN standards makes the USA in a state of "Low Intensity Warfare".
Like Ireland was or numerous Middle Easter or African countries are now. Yet a majority Americans is day to day unaffected even unaware of this. When told they usually have a mix of apathy or even hostility to those suffering in such conditions.
Which is why it's gone on for decades.
