"...A post from 2018,...still true"

“…Other”

I was in a thread on a dear comrade’s page about art. What  it is, and it’s effect. It then came to Black experience art or the art of the “Other”.
Here’s my reply to that.
My life has not been peaceful nor happy. Peace, and happiness are rare for some. This being so some art is just by it’s nature tragic. I’m a technicolored person, but I stay away from “Black” art even films.
I don’t need to pay somebody to see horrors I have to eat everyday.
I already know I’m fucked.
As for my Queer art. I know they hate us, and want us dead.
The art of the “Other” is for our ‘tormentors’ to view.
See, and maybe learn from as to give us a fucking break.
Btw this is why I do that sweet angel faeries sci/fi stuff.
I love the fantasy that things could be gentle beautiful, and funny.
I don’t do angry blood splattered raging sagas.  …mostly
“The above is 'my’ art.
The world 'I’ want to live in.
My art of the "Other”.
My kind of Nigger Art"

  1. Great passage from Samuel R. Delany's book "Hogg":

"I think I ain't never met a normal, I mean normal, man who wasn't crazy! Loon crazy, take 'em off and put 'em away crazy, which is what they would do if there wasn't so many of them. Every normal man -- I mean sexually normal, now -- man I ever met figures the whole thing runs between two points: What he wants, and what he thinks should be. Every thought in his head is directed to fixing a rule-straight line between them, and he calls that line: What Is. [...] On the other hand, every faggot or panty-sucker, or whip jockey, or SM freak, or baby-fucker, or even a motherfucker like me, we know --" and his hands came down like he was pushing something away: "We know, man, that there is what we want, there is what should be, and there is what is: and don't none of them got anything to do with each other unless --" The bartender was shaking his head."-- unless we make it," Hogg went on anyway. (p. 121)

  2. So glad you don't go in for that "Soul on Ice" shit. Faeries are better. It takes far more courage to make and show beautiful pictures that are idealistic and sexy than images of raging violence. In fact, the latter strike me as a copout and even rather cowardly, considering that you're much more likely to be attacked, censored, prosecuted and punished for the former.

  3. I was attacked for years when on radio by the righteous for not being a fire breathing hate monger. They kept telling me I had a responsibility to represent the "Community".

By this they meant the racist radical black movement, and white far left violent terrorists. ...fuck'em.

I told stories about my UFO experience Angels faeries...even then, and my dreams of a loving kindly world. I often told them when I would have such on as guests..."you don't want justice. You want vengeance."

A few times to their credit...a Nation of Islam nutter I had on said "...Yes!" Honestly at least. I then asked if he'd ever see a UFO. This actually shut him up as none of his prepare static had any come back.
...though I was sincere in asking,...he actually blinked in utter confusion. So if ever in a pointless match with this sort bring up our space comrades or comic books.

    Stops them dead.
