"...the making of a future Queer"

It's the first days of 2022...so far so good. It's very warm and has been all season in the Emerald City. Warm for winter some days near 60f. As in Narnia it's always winter ...kind'a, but never Christmas. Or New Years for that matter. Haven't celebrated either for years now.

Speaking of lost hopes these last days I've been watching old musicals on DVD. Yeah, I still watch them things. I'm old school. Yesterday "Oklahoma" today "South Pacific".
I first saw South Pacific in movies.
Before TV became common there were kiddy matinees. Every Saturday my Ma would give me a quarter to go watch the cartoon matinee. It's how I saw all of them classic 40's Bugs Bunny episodes. That and 50's greats like "Earth vs the Flying Saucers". I saw Psycho too. I was 10 and had a quarter the rest is traumatic history.
South Pacific was another matter.
I never had any idea what would be playing ..."Psycho". I just went. On da other hand "South Pacific" opened a whole world to me. "I'm in love with a marvelous guy" indeed.
I thought it was a war movie. Sounded like one. It was a bit different. There was a lot of other interesting stuff going on. I liked what I saw. The thing had such moments.
It helped make me the Qu**r I am today.
