"...game over"

We're basically fucked. Our democratic traditions survived a Civil War Depressions. Two World Wars, and a generation long Cold War. However, it could not survive itself. In that the basic values of this country are property wealth, and those who have it.

Our original national sins or the America Virus. The Alien, and Seditions Act the various Indian Removal Acts. The grim resistance to ending Slavery. Institutionalizing poverty. There's plenty more, but ya gets my drift.

The latest round of undoing the American Hope started with Nixon's late 1960's Southern Strategy to undo the Civil Rights Movement, and hard wire a covert White Supremist structure into mainstream politics.

Reagan destroyed the Middle Class and blamed the poor...which whole portions of white America still believes. That gave us a GOP of the extreme right leading to Trump. Him, and the hell he unleashed.

Four years of ugly vicious hateful chaos ending with the first violent transfer of power in our history. The first, but not the last. Historians will mark January 6th 2020 as the end of the First American Republic.

What will come next will have nothing to do with dreams or hopes for anyone. The Biden election was the last attempt at saving the old America. Our President is an overwhelmed 80-year-old man with an apparently incompetent Vice president. Many of her staff are resigning like Trumps did towards the end. For the same reasons. To not have their careers tainted.

It'd be a joke if it weren't so heart breaking. The GOP 'will' take both Houses in '22 and refuse to fund any reforms attempted by Grandpa. Plus, undo whatever the Dem. House or Senate attempted in their short, and likely last time as a majority. In particular the infrastructure package won't get a penny.

We're done it's over.
Our best bet at this point is the breakup of the Union into regional republics. Similar to what Quebec, and Scotland will soon do. Let the red states have their Turner Diary/Hand Maid's Tale Gun's, and Ammo murderous republics. That, and the Cosmopolitan coasts have a New Yorker magazine literate civilization.

Basically, most of the former US Northeast. Allied to Wichita. The Midwestern Confederacy. 

Both being in a long asymmetrical war with the Christian Aryan League of Freeholds.

This future is the 'best-case' scenario. It probably won't be this tidy.
