A basement apartment across da river.

This in New Jersey collapsed.

The folks made it out.

There were fatal basement apartment

 tragedies in Brooklyn Queens, and the 'Burbs.

We knew it was coming, but everyone including 

myself didn't realize just how dangerous Storm Ida was. 

Even in it's weakened state. 

In talking to neighbors 

we all thought maybe some wind, and a bit of rain. 

I mean nothing's happened here in years. 

Not since Sandy. 

So sadly our guard was down.
