"...Jubilee"

For Independence Day
A dear FB friend sent me a
Juneteenth flag.
On June 19th 1865
Major General George Granger
in command of the Union Army of the Cumberland.
Publicly proclaimed General Order Number Three.

This freed the last Slaves held by the former
Confederacy in Galveston Texas.
Originally called by the freed Slaves
"Jubilee Day".
It came in time to be known as
"Juneteenth".
