Horrified numbness.
ReplyDeleteAs I, and my friends were being humiliated beaten, and traumatized as children. Other's to the north were being outright murdered.
This by the same kind of people with identical motivations.
The Canadian black robes had the good fortune of seclusion to do their work. Here in big cities, and towns. They had to content themselves with mere beatings, and emotional torments.
How often those purporting to be on the side of the angels actually behave as though devoted to some form of demonolatry involving human sacrifice: worshipers of Bloody Mary, the withered corpse of Mrs. Bates come to undead life to devour her offspring.

That's amazing what Freud said about Nietzsche. It seems the latter took seriously the advice inscribed over the door of Apollo's temple at Delphi. I doubt it's easy to truly know yourself, with clear self-perception and not a trace of self-deceit.
