The recent George Floyd verdict, and the up coming trials for other official murders. Crime, and Punishment. This brought certain matters to mind. Justice, and law very rarely meet. Both are multifaceted, and usually contradict. One the arbitrary rules of civilization built up over many generations. The other instinctive rightness. Which is intuitive, and eternal.

In the Charleston mass shooting the victim's families forgave the racist killer. They wanted no harm to come to him. Some indigenous peoples have similar laws. So primal eternal law is meeting civil law. Would we have been outraged if the Floyd family forgave officer Chauvin. Justice, and vengeance.

We have this need for both but know one is higher than the other.
