"...do better"

Again just sitting alone in my digs as I have as you have for a year now. I've read everything I have. Written several volumes of madness. Watched all the lectures online, and doucs I can stand. 

I now mostly sleep. 

Tho' lately been ill with assorted symptoms. These from profound isolation anxiety depression rage, and general insanity. I just checked on our republic's Butcher's Bill for the Pandemic. 

We clock in as of 12:43am 1/19/21 at 400,670+ perished.

The same if not more than the combat killed of WW2 Korea Vietnam Afghanistan, and Iraq. The former from 1941 through 2013. The Virus did it in eleven months. We are living through an actual war.

Another 100,000 expected to leave us by the end of February. This even with the Vaccine. Some speculate it could total with up to 700k by early Summer. One stands numb beyond stunned.

Given this I hope we don't forget like last time. 

The 1918 pandemic generation went silent about it. I remember in history books there was as little as a page or just a paragraph in a footnote. This with a grainy photo of a 1918 traffic cop in a crude mask. ...period.

I hope we do better.
