Last night I went out for a rather cold constitutional. It was about 10pm which is still somewhat early here in the Emerald City. However the streets were empty. COVID, and being 34f~1c cut the crowd size. Most avoid this season as much as they can. I love, and enjoy it.
My walking is better so I wandered along Eastern Parkway.
Once a 17th century deer trail. I went up to Brooklyn Museum/Prospect Park. This the older sister of Central Park. I stumbled there, and back. This winter is of two minds as to if it will be tepid or very cold. That big snow they say is coming will decide it.
I stopped at a Bodega on the way back, and treated myself.
Some tangerines...those little Holiday ones, and nuts. Cashews. Loves them. Though unsalted. Still cashews are cashews. As I said earlier it's the small pleasant things. The little kindnesses we share together.
This keep us in the life.
I remember something my late brother John said to me about living. "No matter how your circumstance may change. Even if you only have one small jar of jam. Make it the finest jam you can because your dignity deserves it".
This is how I've try to live my life then, and now. Small good, and kindly things for one's self, and more important for others. Mind we're all human, but we aspire to this. Which is the virtue.
Btw if you're in the U.S. Northeast.
Don't travel stay home. Which you should be doing anyway.
I just looked at the Satellite maps. Scary. That storm is moving this way. A safe winter to you all.
