ReplyDeleteIt is an outrage that they failed to hold your parade. It confirms the deep moral decay of our civilization. Soon Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will consist of a deflating Bozo balloon and a limp wet Doggie Diner mascot towed by a rusty tricycle.
I hope at the least you will get your cake, or ice cream, or whatever delectable delight is permitted you, preferably in immoderate quantity.

Re: longevity. It's variable. Some of my relatives died in their 50s, others made it into their eighties. Even someone born in 1916, before antibiotics, could make it to age 104: viz., Olivia de Havilland. Jimmy Carter was criticized for saying that life is unfair, but I think he got it right.

My family on my Ma's side they kick the bucket in their late 50's to mid-60's.
On my dad's...well my Uncle John Baptiste lived to either 97 or 103. This depending on opinion. So as my sister sez we're going to be averaged out between them.
I think my sister will make it to her mid-80's by that reckoning.
Me...well my doc said diabetes takes ten years off ya life span. So that already makes me technically 80.
So I figure two to four years of more posts.
I'll do the best I can.
