This piece is called "Life Every Voice, and Sing". 
It was first written as a poem by James Weldon Johnson. 
First performed by Black Children in Jacksonville, FL. 

This on Abrahams Lincoln's birthday in 1900. 
This It was thought of as the Negro National Anthem. 
It was commonly sung during the Civil Rights Era. 
I sang it my family sang it.
