Well unlike the 'End' as seen in the flick "Knowing" below. Ours is slower. Giving us more time to ponder our fates. More room for courage wisdom madness venality. All the major human food groups.
We're leaving in tens, and now hundreds at a time. It is a mathematical certainty it will be thousands at a time soon. Near 600 in New York State every 24 hours. We're catching Spain with their 800 a day.
I'm not sure when the very big numbers kick in.
Will it be spread out from now through summer or just slam us over the next few weeks. That near 300,000+ dead number haunts me.
That's the best case.
#45 sounds relieved with it.
The feared max of two million+ avoided.
There's about 250,000 tested cases in the U.S.
However the untested are 10 to 20 times higher.
Most reliable commentators are saying multiply the tested number by 10 to 20 for the true number.
At 20 times there's 5,000,000 infected.
You read right Five Millions infected.
If it makes you feel better go with the much lower tested number.
The Virus does not care.
Me my guess is by this time next year there will be close to a Million dead in this country. Mostly because of the disastrous haphazard politically motivated way it's being handled.
The rest of the world,...one shudders.
Last time the 1918 Flu took 60,000,000+ dead.
For the species worse case by Fall 2021,...40 Millions+ dead.
Some that survive will have life long serious repertory conditions.
There are no current figures for that category.
Next Spring the vaccine will just have been developed.
It will take four to six further months to test approve, and distribute world wide. So by Fall 2021 we'll be looking at near 1918 deaths.
Faced with this it's hard to care about much else.
We sit, and wait.
Days go by.
An addendum,...
Mind you this is how it looks now in April 2020.
If our response 'drastically' improves nationally, and world wide.
The harm may be much less.
By Fall 2021,...
Perhaps 15/20 Millions world wide fatalities.
Perhaps 150,000 U.S. deaths.
This I think is the best case outcome.
Stay tuned.
