Besides Barbie I have a thing for some Disney items. The 1950′s Mickey Mouse Club in particular. Those of that generation have a warm connection to that show, and it’s performers,…hard to explain. We just do.

Though now they’re leaving us in numbers. Especially these last years. They like us are in their late 60′s early 70′s. They were close to us in a magical way that only early television could do. The adults on the show would be well into their 90′s now…I don’t think any are still with us.

“Doreen” left us just a year or so ago.

We knew when it happened, and spoke to each other as if a cousin had passed. Such was the magic of those days. Yes we know these were young actors on the make,…so what we loved them.

“…Y? “…Because We Like You.” 

We believe this, and kept it in our hearts well into a new Century. Such is the power of Myth. In this case a kindly one.
