One day this era will calmly sit in history books. Along with the Saint Bartholomew's Day Massacre Wounded Knee, and The Uganda Genocide. It will live in the academic syllabus.
"The American Culture Wars 1954~2038"
The above image of that poor woman will be a
chapter heading on 2019~CE.

The images are consistent.
"1954". Brown vs Board of Education. The legal end of racial segregation in all American schools, and the beginning of the generations long attempts to overturn it, and all it stood for.
"2038" The likely last year Baby Boomers of the 20th century will have control of the media, and government.
Look... let's face it; we're through, and on all counts... social, environmental, economic... it is the end.
ReplyDeleteH. G. Wells saw this coming years ago when he ended his book "Mind At The End Of Its Tether" with these words:
"Mind near exhaustion still makes its final futile movement towards that 'way out or round or through the impasse'.
That is the utmost now that mind can do. And this, its last expiring thrust, is to demonstrate that the door closes upon us for evermore.
There is no way out, or round or through."
It's here, and it's here now. We are not talking about 50 or a 100 years from now. And the speedup is exponential on all fronts. That woman's face is a good symbol of what is staring at us from every possible direction. Her face should be the next American postage stamp!
Take a deep breath... go read your copy of "The Wild Boys" and get a copy of "Hogg".
...and yet I hope.
