That "Marriage" thing in the alleged "gay" community came to the fore after the more radical Stonewall generation died away during the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteBL's being declared not gay was at about the same time. Standards of acceptable sexuality became narrow. I so recall at the heart of the Stonewall era was the overthrown of the power of the patriarchy.
The source of all that domestic violence. Men beating their wives children, and raping the whole lot while at it. Most of the shooters are products of these hells.
It kept woman as sexual slaves butchered Queers, and honored bullies.
Marriage the right to get drafted...the "we're just like you" insanity is mostly due to the catastrophe of the AIDS Pandemic.
A seriously unforeseen consequence.
As A friend said of the post AIDS homophiles that did all this,...they're orphans. They don't want to over throw anything they want to be adopted.
So they fought for the "right' to be drafted into the armed forces, and won. The right to marry, and won. As soon as they showed that they were no threat to the established traditions they were more or less "adopted".
The less acceptable elements of Queerdom were abandoned, and left to face the beast. The Homophiles forgot all about them, and went to their annual oblivious muscle man mardi gras.
Mind you some old timer Nazis don't care. A queer is still a queer to them. They'll be dead in another generation.
Homophiles are now part of the acceptable landscape as long as they don't do any of that Allen Ginsberg William Burroughs Harry Hay Ralph Chubb sexual freedom stuff.
So patriarchy the legacy of genocides slavery traditions of sexual violence, and bigotries against women racial minorities kids, and a culture of greed bullies, and power.
