The Amazon dies the world suffocates. No one understands that or even cares. For example they are still selling Black African refugees as Slaves in Libyan ports. This fell off the world's news radar as soon as it started several years ago,...that's right it's 'years' now. No one cares. Not the UN that supports the government doing it. Not the usual fanatics in the American left. No one.

French Nuns tried to get their government to go over, and stop it. Paris told them to get stuffed. ...so a burning world-forest whose end will shorten the lifespan of most living things,...who cares. Not rich countries that don't have to care nor poor countries that 'want' to be rich. Don't worry.

Quite a few people care, and Bolsonaro has been under international pressure to send in troops to fight the fires. But capitalism requires infinite growth, which impels it to eat the world. As Terence Mckenna said, it has the intelligence of a termite. Which will win, the forest or the termite horde? Our life expectancy does indeed depend upon it.
