"Life in Hell"
When Social Platforms were developed by naïve idealistic wonks. It was thought these would bring together the whole world in communication for the good.
Yes, and no.
It did bring us together, but for other purposes. Anonymous human natures are not pretty. Storms of fear rages hatred lusts vindictive crusades were the result. These should have been foreseen,...but were not.
All they did was blindly unleash "Monsters from the Id".
A whole planet of them. This is only the beginning. A weaponized worldwide network of unleashed private nightmares is upon us.
The installation of an actual illiterate disturbed buffoon as head of state of the most powerful empire in human history is just it's first major achievement.

On the topic of general unpleasantness the most recent report from the NCDC states that this past April was the second highest in terms of average global surface temperatue since the begining of the data set. The planet is warming at the same pace. And it is much much latter than most people are inclined to think.
ReplyDeleteCuriously in the world of finance there are those individuals who in effect make wagers on what the climate is doing for various regions where agriculture is practiced. What is curious is that the folk who want to make money are betting with the climatologists. Imagine that.

I suspect it's probably best to use only clunky old computers for as long as they'll run. The newer stuff will have the most surveillance capabilities.
