Laying here all the chaos of my life flashing by. So of course I think of the subway. The 14st IRT eastside #’s 4, and 6 lines stop. Coldest station in the whole bleeping system in winter…snow drifts down from the vents. The Hottest in summer. Clocked at 120+f at either extreme end of the platform. That, and of course you’re stuck there in both seasons because of signal problems. We use the same signal equipment that was installed in 1938. The MTA workers still call it the “new” equipment. I actually miss all that. There’s my model of the nightmare in question above.
