He's right, we're fuck-ups. Especially apt are his predictions that the future is likely to bring famine, pestilence and shortened life expectancy. With our stupidity and selfishness and our lunatic faith in the clay-footed tin god Progress, we are condemning future generations to short, miserable lives. In their historical memories, the evil of the Nazis will be dwarfed by our own.
"...famine, pestilence and shortened life expectancy"
That's a t-shirt or 1960's album cover. The kid was being very optimistic as to his future. What he foresees would be the best possible scenario.
Something a bit more grim is far more likely. World War Z will seem a slap-stick comedy compared to what is really headed our way. I mean the book,...the movie sucked shit.
Another thing,...that kid was reading Green Peace propaganda, but he still meant what he said. Look at his face that wasn't just acting. If he were allowed to speak his own words they would have melted the camera!
When he's 45 years old his kids will be going hungry his home will have burned down or swept out to seas or savaged by crazed mobs. Look at him,...he knows that's coming, and he knows who will have done that to him.
Yeah he's angry.
