I noticed this addiction slowly coming over so many over the years. Being older I only use the telephone to talk to people. Others seem to have their whole lives rapped up in them,...strange.
On the other hand by the standards of young people I guess I'm strange in that I've never texted anyone or anything in my life played a computer game,...other than Pong 40 years ago. Also the Atari 2600 which I actually liked, but left it at that.
Also I don't have a smart phone.
I recall when I bought my current phone the young sales person was stunned that I didn't want any of that digital crap that seems to comes with them now. I said, "...I want a telephone...that's all...I just want to talk to my still living friends my doctor, and my bank." The kid was mystified.
Much as my grandma was terrified of color TV. Back in the 1970's for her 72th birthday we got her among other things a SONY Trinitron TV,...remember them. We later found she was still using her 1958 b/w Emerson. She'd only plug in the SONY when she knew we were coming over.
She seriously believed it would explode, and catch fire.
As I believe the same about iPhones.
