"An Evening at the Institute"
I got an invitation to attend though not speak at the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research. They might think I'm still on the air. Anyway their subject is evil, and what it means. A bunch of high brow crap of trying to understand shit. This by crapping the works of Augustine, Nietzsche, and that guy Arendt at each other.
If there's a buffet, and drinks I'll go.
On the other hand I could hold a counter forum outside that joint. I'll set up a card table, and a folding chair where i'll explain the deal. This without the customers having to pay the $315. bucks cover charge.
I'll take donations in a pink Jack 'O Lantern.
Here's my pitch:
Comrades as Lenin said before he signed all them Death Warrants, "...What is to be Done?!"
A fucking good question then as now.
Cruelty Evil Violence? Where'd it come from what's it's point? What do we do? Comrades I say who fucking cares. Look it's real simple, and save your $315. bucks!
Evil Cruelty, and Violence are Fun!
Look at our sign painting corporal up there. He's having a ball.
People in particular young men, and rich old ones like doing it. Other folks of all flavors, and hat sizes like a bit of a go as well.
Evil feels good, and it's fun.
Thank you.
I'll be here all weekend.
I got t-shirts, and my DVDs under the card table. All at negotiable prices. Also tell ya friends, I'll be here all weekend.

"...stunned" 1944 Americans in stunned horror. This as they see 2019 Americans support Nazis.

Evil is caused by stupid rich people who think they can meaningfully address the problems of the world, such as extreme mass suffering, by organizing overpriced TEDx-style conferences which they alone can afford to attend. I bet on their way to and from the conference they step over 100 homeless people without even looking at them.
ReplyDeleteIt's also caused by lack of empathy, selfishness, dishonesty to oneself and others, narcissism, outright malice, displacement shadow projection, sociopathy and psychopathy, among other things.
Interestingly, Hitler may have been merely a sociopath, rather than a full-on pyschopath. The latter, according to some psychologists, are wired differently from the rest of us, and lack the neurological circuitry necessary for empathy. Whereas Hitler fainted at the sight of blood, loved little dogs, and was extremely kind to children (provided they were Aryan, of course). Go figure.

P.S. - I should probably add extreme greed and lust for power to my laundry list.

I'm just reading your posts now a year later in the 2019 future.
ReplyDeleteBtw #45 has committed atrocities you can't imagine Lately with the 2020 election coming he sez he wants to be Prez for life,...he actually said he might not leave even if voted out.
I envy you there in the relatively sane past.
