"Here we are"

If there were Federal Kiss Off Centers. That is handy Euthanasia store fronts around. These past few months I would have used one. At least I'd have dropped by to read the literature, and have the complimentary Kool-Aid.

Nothing big or unusually awful going on.  I mean other than have Nazi cops point fucking guns at me, and a rather large fire immediately below my digs,...I mean other than that.
It's just the usual dreariness of the slow motion end of things.

I'm just so used up tired yeah old too.

Nothing is funny anymore, and there's nothing to look forward too. Not even the Coney Island Mermaids Parade over on the Coney Island Boardwalk.

Used to look forward to that for decades.

Cops destroyed it years ago. Yeah they decided folks were too happy so they now run the thing...steel barriers pens forcing crowds around beating people up being nasty assholes all that.

Haven't really gone in years now.

So being a mild shut-in I stay in.
Not much to do. I stopped making art as it seemed pointless,...who would see or enjoy it. Especially my Queer Angel Boy stuff.
Though legal I couldn't get a show anywhere.
Even if I tried to rent the space.
So much for that.

So Netflix bad science fiction websites sleep, and watching the clouds go by. Even the damned Botanical Garden my last refuge is off the menu...no more free days.
You have to buy a membership,...$50 bucks or something,...fuck'em.

Well okay three hours of open admission on Friday morning when everyone is either at work class if elder still sleeping.

So here we are.

  1. I guess I'm not the only one that feels this! Cheer up Sidney, at least you have company.

  3. I’ve often felt upon awakening that I’d rather not have to ever again. So I know the feeling. This is not the highest time we’ve known, that’s for fucking sure.

But I feel I have a job to do. It’s to create all that art. It’s not that lots of people will see or enjoy it; I have the same problem there as you. It’s just that this is what I’m supposed to do. Then I’ll drop dead, probably totally unappreciated by the world, which is going to shit anyway. Such are the times in which we find ourselves.

The Japanese Tea Garden and the DeYoung Museum In Golden Gate Park cost a bundle to get into these days. When I was a child, they were free. The Academy of Sciences across the way is 35 bucks a head. The message is clear: if you are poor, culture and science are not for you.

Some years ago the DeYoung did a very expensive remodel. It looks like a pricey gas chamber now.

  4. "Pricey gas chamber"

    Yeah that's what they want.

When I was a kid heck when I was an adult most all cultural centers museums parks gardens were totally open to all.

    ...all the time.

Slowly this changed. There's talk of making the library have a basic entry fee here in NYC. There was a firestorm against it so they backed off. But you can see what they have in mind,...they'll wait another few years.

For now at least we have culture online till they charge for each site you surf to.
