This so reminds me of the
Drama and Literature office of the station I was with.
This about 1982. Well, '78 through about 1985.
We had us a fucking ball.
We were young bleeping talented
on the damned radio and had a swell fucking time!

The office was open 24/7/365.
We were always working on something.
The political office. The Public Affairs department.
These were puritanical Stalinists.
The fuckers didn't even like each other.

They kept their door locked.
They fantasized they rated the FBI CIA and the Mossad
spying on them.  As if they mattered.
I mean literally.
I swear...Nazi commies.

40 years later the bad element as they called us.
We called ourselves the Bad Elephants.
Hippie Queer Dyke Anarchist dopers.
We still know and love each other.

Them commie guys were never friends.
Merely allies in da cause.

We all for better or worse chose our paths.

Among other things not to do at home. Don't freebase without clearance from your local fire brigade. That and try not to get too old. It's a pain in da butt and dangerous. You eventually will fall down and won't get up. Btw is that old lady in that commercial still stuck on her kitchen floor. As I recall there was no resolution.

The upside is that this rodeo from hell is almost over...if ya lucky.

I just got up. Suprise...heat was on. Some computer shuts it down when the season changes. It keeps it off no matter how cold it still gets. Life in da big City. On da other hand I sort of get it. On this day a year ago, it was 92f...and humid. This morning it was 44f. I complained like crazy back then. Now I praise central heating.

It's rained for years...well days.

Cold wet and raw as only the Northeast can get. That cold from the ocean that gets into ya bones. Planetary climate re-arraignments don't mean years long heatwaves...well okay for some it does. But for most it just means stuff has gone insane.

On da elder front I feel like bleep.

Got up did my traditional stuff tided the digs. I swept. Hate vacuum cleaners and them robot rumba things. Made the bed washed what I wore yesterday. The walk to the laundry is now too damned long. Anyway...It's called a G.I. shower.

This because soldiers do or did this as my WW2 dad said. Imagine clean underwear every day. Had juice took a seriously hot shower. After all that noise I was ready to go back to bed.

I had used 40% of my body's daily power on all that crap. No wonder elders let stuff go.  I'm sure temped. My visiting nurses are always in amazement my Zen tidy digs. Seems most old bleeps live in versions of garage sales. Actually, that don't sound so bad. Minimum maintenace with them things and showers optional.

Stay tuned.

It was cold raw and rained all day.
It's still cold ...raining too.
Only now it's dark.
"It was a dark and stormy night..."

Way cool 72nd Street subway glass mosaics.

Been a cold Spring so far.
Cold wet raw today.
Toy art on my rainy windowsill.
Used paintbox airbrush in background.
Couldn't help myself. It passed the time.

Life during plague and war time.
Our local bakery is shuttered.
Victim of the local collapsed economies.
It was here since the 1940's.
Survived everything except COVID.

I saved a few pennies and wanted to get a pie.
Have to settle for that awful nasty dried tasteless
store bought crap. Fuck it.
Not worth going out into the rain for that suff.

Sugarless ice cream is non-existent.
Not seen since the start of the plague.
I just want something-anything to cheer me up.
Life is so fucking bleak now.

 "...sense"

Dreams speak back to us. In that space between sleeping and waking between dreams beginning or ending. Not words. Just a sense an essence of what was given. As if eternity knows, and cares.

 "...start"

Wake up, keep breathing don’t die.
A good start. Do laundry the post office, and groceries. Stare out the window watch eternity wander by. Trees do that. They count eternity. I’d have made a good tree. There’s the Bridge. Taken as I stumbled by.

"...My radio days"

October 20th, 1978. There was an early light snow. The climate was just starting to behave strangely. Radio. I arrived at 28. I left at 64. I made lifelong friends. We danced at each other's weddings, and now we're burying each other. It was a life.

"...Fire Sale!"

I am now posting on >>>>  "Book of Days" (sidneyinhell.blogspot.com) This due to tech problems with Blogsplot.  The ot...
