"...ashes"



*...I was messaging to a friend about the AIDS Pandemic as it related to COVID.

"Most of the friends I had in my young life died in that era,...all died."

They never grew up or grew old. I recall there was a mass culture of denial just like with this pandemic. Them stupid oblivious horny fags went out every night in that culture we had of compulsive anonymous sex. The went infected themselves, and then infected everyone they knew.

It was a kind of mass suicide.

I survived because I was horrified at the mass anonymous fornication. I left the gay movement because of it. It was to me heartless anti-romantic ugly, and cold. That was the start of my solitary life.

Imagine a room with near 40+ or so empty seats. 

Those were my gay friends. That was  my young life. They're all gone everyone of them. 40/50 years before their time. They refused to believe the virus was real. Then when they saw everyone dying around us...they still couldn't stop. They had become addicted to a lifestyle of loveless ejaculations.

Human beings some of us, and sometimes are really not worth the trouble."

“…faerie dust”



It’s likely that “Faerie Tales” are based on events, and stories 5000+ years old. As “Ring Around the Rosy” is traced to near 800 years ago during the Black Death. Some remote version of Superman, and the mix of industrial era popular heroes may survive into the 40th century. 

How could they not. 

Invincible saviors are a theme through the ages. We are generally taught about the rise, and fall of cultures. We learned of them as separate civilizations with little or no connections.  But there’s a more wholistic view of the human story.

Starting during the last Ice Age there began one continuous human culture. Different varieties within it rose evolved faded. Adding their stories to the ongoing enterprise. The current space faring post industrial digital information era is directly connected to them folks figuring what flint could do. One learning one remembering from the Ice to now.

20,000+ years, and still in business. 

“405 B.C.E.”



I had a dream which took place in a library. I was reading works about Fifth Century B.C.E. cultures. Well Jimmy Carter comes by, and sits next to me, and we get into a chat about the subject. 

The former President,…and btw he’s the first head of State in or out of office to ever visit my dreams. Anyway we hit’s it off, and compare our contemporary world to theirs. We also seem to be having dinner,…dreams are like that. The President sez how other than the tech we’re pretty much the same as them folks so long ago. The center of our lives he told me, “…are family, and tribe”. 

True enough.

We spoke further about raising kids. I helped raise my nieces, and nephews. Carter of course has a daughter, and grand kids.  “…the center of our lives.”

Well this reading room has a nice nap area,…btw libraries really should. A pal, and I often discuss plans for a live in Library, and Theater for Ladies, and Gentlemen with Artistic Proclivities. I think I’d rather enjoy living in such. I believe in ancient times this did happen. 

After chatting, and dining President Carter goes over to take a snooze. Me I continue reading, and enjoying the dumplings,…such are dreams.

A few days ago I posted that we hit 90,000 new COVID cases for that day. Now I find that yesterday for just that day it was 100,000 new cases of the Pandemic. One sits stunned. This is beyond this election or any assorted madmen or villains. This is history we are in an historic moment for our republic. This is far so far past any speaking or opinions.

The Gettysburg Address 

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania November 19, 1863 

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war.   

We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But, in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate – we cannot consecrate – we cannot hallow –this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract.  

The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us – that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion – that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain – that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom – and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

It's 5:21 am Eastern Standard Time. Set your clocks back,...remember fall back spring ahead. I just heard what I though was semi-auto gun fire on the street. Not unusual in the Emerald City even in the best of times. Then I hear it again. It was fireworks.

Perhaps a few days early.
This to either celebrate or mourn. No matter what happens this joint will be jumping. So a bit of extra precaution. If you haven't early voted or mailed in a ballot go out, and Vote. Then get the bleep home, and stay there.
I hear there are now international observers at polling stations around our republic. We used to do this in developing nations. This to help them towards some variety of democracy. We are now listed as a troubled democracy. Not yet a failed one. That failure or restoration will be decided on November 3rd. Which will be followed shortly by the 5th.
