The American Experiment in Freedom is a gift from the Enlightenment. We are nothing if not complicated and contradictory. Two weeks ago, our Supreme Court revoked a primal Constitutional right held by women. This week we appointed Ketanji Brown Jackson. The first descended from Slaves Black Woman to that same Court. We strive towards a more perfect Union. Stay tuned.

  1. Am I to understand that the same deranged hard-left medico-totalitarians who for eighteen months have been calling for people like me to be forcibly injected with a dubious experimental gene treatment masquerading as a “vaccine” are now shrieking about their sudden deprivation of bodily autonomy? I can’t say I’m feeling too sympathetic.

Also, no one has adequately explained to me which clause of the Constitution guarantees a right to abortion. I find it nowhere mentioned in that rather short and concise document. And in any case, I’m not worried about how I’m going to handle my next pregnancy, and I doubt you are about yours either. When was the last time any feminists or women’s rights advocates showed even a grain, even one minuscule iota of sympathy or support for *us*? You know what I mean. Their political capital with me is zero.

Everyone on every side of the abortion issue has a history of turning up the emotional temperature to an instant 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit hysteria, and consequently their words are to me as a howling wind and I do not hear them. Maybe when somebody says something rational about the topic in a manner not charged with snarling partisan passion, then perhaps I will be able to listen to them.

  2. That Constitutional clause you wonder at may be the same one that gave queers the right to marry and niggers the right not to be lynched. I'm sure it's in there somewhere. Granted we disagree as to the plague. Where it came from how it spread and if the vaccine was effective how it was from your view coerced on us all. Even where that vaccine came from is up for debate. As gentlemen we can disagree on these matters of state.

As for the over one million dead in our republic. They who died of this alleged hoax. Chinese in origin I believe it was. Many from my neighborhood including this very building. Brooklyn and Queens being two of the longest running red zones/hot spots. From these multitudes here and throughout of beloved republic there is silence. They are dead and are free of this venal madness which we both of us must continue to exist in.

On the upside I went for a walk in our rather profoundly hot city. I fear it may be even hotter where you are. Indeed the entirety of the Northern Hemisphere seems involved in a notable heatwave. Temps peaking at 114f~44c in too many parts of Japan China India into Russia and Europe. All of North America with certain exceptions is also in da deep frier. However, there are merciful exceptions. A pal in Vancouver emailed it was actually chilly in her hood.

As for my walk. Armed with a brimmed sunhat a bottle of ice water and my cane. I stumbled to my local park. The same one I played in as a very young lad. Now as an elder I seek the same refuge. They just renovated it again...we're being gentrified. I noted that many dogs were walking their owners. That and likely lads were happily cavorting in the sunshine. Totally unaware of the madness that consumes our attention. The Earth abides. I wish you well old friend. ...stay hydrated.

  3. Gentlemen strolling the park with a cane, like Sunday in the Park with Georges: it conjures an image of the nineteenth century. Maybe you can get a cane with a rhino horn, like Salvador Dali. In any case, promenade in style!

The park where I played as a child is full of huge redwoods. It’s across the street from the school where I had my first childhood crushes. But I haven’t been there in years because that town has since become so costly, so rarified that it is for the wealthy alone, and their servants.

As to the politics of plague, basically I think that finally after all these years the right wing crazies have got something right. It is indeed being used by technocrats to inflict serious deprivation of liberty on the peoples of the world.

We’ve known or suspected for decades that corporations wanted to take over the world. I remember having that worked out by 1979. This used to be a standard leftist position. What changed? Why are the righties talking like old-time lefties, and the lefties acting like Zuckerschmuck’s poop smells like attar of roses? In any case, it looks to me like we’re approaching the corporate technocrats’ endgame; they’re going for the gold.

So stay cool, and always bring your water. I used to love hanging out in cafes, but at three bucks a pop for a cuppa joe, I prefer to bring my own. A nice park bench in the shade will do just fine for watching the world go by.

  4. I used to enjoy eating Nathan's hot dogs out at Coney Island. Now on the rare days I stumble out there I also bring my own. What with them damned dogs going for near $5. bucks a pop. Bleep that. Another sign that as commies used to say: "The fucking evil Corporations are eating you alive! ...and your little dog too! "

The fucking Nazis are right on that one and the far left has gone over a cliff. Mind you the bully boys do not have us in mind when they say that. We will not be thick on da ground anywhere in their dreamed of Ayrian America. Seems we get to choose between Hitler and Stalin...swell. This shit gives me a headache. All I want is peace love kindness pretty boys and low-cost housing.

This is how bad it is...I vote Liberal Dem because these folks are the best we got to keep some of us out of internment camps. Unless you're a certain kind of Queer Black poor etc. There's a rather long list. My headache is getting worse.
In other news: Latest mass shooting is near Chicago today. Six perished 31 wounded. Other than that I'm swell. Watch ya back be safe and never let the fuckers get ya down. There's bound to be good news one day.
