The Alert that wasn't. Being here within these walls all these months one thinks. I'm recalling Fallout Shelters. Places where we'd wait out the drifting death on the streets. Just lately I'm remembering being a radio Host/engineer. I was tasked along with my associates to have ready the Emergency Broadcast System Announcement. This in the event of a Nuclear attack or natural disaster. The U.S. Civil Defense crest above.
9/11, and Storm Sandy came, and went yet we were never ordered to release the EBS alert. Now years later with an event that has taken more lives than Hiroshima. Still nothing.
No warning no Alert.
Even worse even stranger. Our government behaves as if this deadly catastrophe never happened. Our current head of state Mr. Trump has never mentioned the number of dead. Never specifically said the exact current number, and never gave comfort to the survivors.
Our experiences have never been validated.
As if all we have lived and continue to live is not real. No socially distanced masked mourning in great cathedrals temples or anywhere.
Nor it seems are any planned I know of.

We're supposed to as our head of state literally said, "...forget all about this, and move on."
This adds to the our bewilderment in the face of the events of this year. We sit Quarantined at home through these months with family or alone in disbelief.
How can such be?
Millions still think despite the graves. They believe as their leader instructs them that it's all a hoax. That or it will magically vanish. This is an era of stoked false fears, and madness.
*(Despite his legal electoral removal, the effect of what the previous head of state did lives on. Perhaps a third of our republic is still faithful to him and his hateful elusions. The American Experiment continues.)
