Another page asked of your strangest childhood movie experience. For me..."Psycho".
I was 10 and went to the movies every Saturday. 'Never knew what was on. Ma gave me a Quarter...yeah .25 cents it was Brooklyn and they let me in. My ma later asked what I saw.
I couldn't begin to explain that thing...so didn't.
You could have told her that you wanted to be just like Norman Bates. But maybe better not...

Speaking of Hitchcock, a few years ago huge numbers of crows settled in this neighborhood, this town, this entire region, for what reason I can't imagine. I've seen as many as forty crows gathered on a single smallish lawn. Not wishing to wind up like Tippi Hedron, I try to maintain good relations with them.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor the cat lady from Hong Kong, the one who likes to poison our roses and leave cat shit on our porch, feeds the crows like she does the cats. They gather at intervals about her door, often making much noise. I find that practicing a modicum of ceremonial magic gives me the mojo I need so they pretty much leave me alone.

I always wondered about demented old folks. Now that I've joined that club it's all so clear. This is hell so act accordingly. ... i.e., killing roses, and cat shit art.
ReplyDeleteAs for them Crows.
In Natives times on the heights, I live on. They called it Crow Hill.
The Canarsie Peoples are long gone but the Crows remain. They'll still be here when our phyco-industrial side show vanishes as well.
Your Crows are just inspecting their property.
