From my old radio comrade Kenneth W Davis on his FB page.
Slowly, fall returns to the northeast - leaves and temperature begin to fall...so, it is now time once more to make my simple chicken soup -- the aroma of simmering chicken and veggies waft throughout the house making ones eyes water simultaneously with ones stomach rumbling for the evening repast -- a dizzying blend of chicken, water, parsnips, turnips, carrots, celery, scallions, onions, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper, five-spice powder, and a bit of vanilla bean for under-taste....simmer for 4-5 hours -- strain to remove all solids, add a second round of veggies with the newly shredded chicken to the mouth-watering broth -- simmer for another hour or two -- serve with wide egg noodles and collapse....
Wow! That looks so good,I am drooling!
ReplyDeleteKenny was always such a cool cook host, and dear pal.
