“…poisoned”

I just came from a flame war thread about nuclear war. How da fuck do I get into these things. Anyway some were saying because of new tech we could easily win one against even China or Russian. I was to say the least stunned at the statement. 

I posted this image, and said:

In 1948 when this magazine illustration was published. It would have taken five below megaton A-Bombs to destroy New York. After the cold war when the Kremlin archives were briefly opened. We found out they had targeted 300 multi-megaton warheads of varying strengths for the City. The Pentagon alone had 30 sited on it. 

To those that imagine any kind of nuclear war can be controlled in any way or even more incredibly won I say this. The whole point of a nuclear war is to not just destroy military or industrial targets. It’s to wipe you, and your culture from the face of the earth. Your very language will just be a vague memory. Everything every industrial military or cultural civil center every food growing region everything will be destroyed burned, and poisoned with multiple strikes to insure this. That is Nuclear War.“
