The above 'Alert' just came over my computer. Seems tomorrow, and the next day will be fun. Granted as bad as it's been in the East. The bleeping West has been going through a Climate Apocalypse. The Coast up into Canada has had killer temps for the entirety of this summer. Fires floods bad government social chaos with populations of insane extremists. Basically all the worse parts of Disneyland. Did I mention the locusts? They've been hanging around out there too.
In the East it's been mostly steam, and floods. Of course we also have extremists mobs bad government, and generally interesting times. ...just not as much. A few 90/100f days, but nothing like the West or many parts of the world. Read that just released U.N. climate statement saying that we're all fucked. It's our own fault too!
Wait,...gets better:
From the Duck'n Cover files. Besides temps being like a heatwave on Venus. There's more fun coming. FEMA and the FCC are going to conduct a big test of the Emergency Alert System on all iPhones TV, and Radio stations this Wednesday August 11, at 2:20 PM.
Getting us ready for the radioactive hijinks coming with China, and Iran. Here's the link: https://www.fema.gov/.../fema-and-fcc-plan-nationwide...
Yep Fun in da Sun for all,...Enjoy!
We've been lucky in bayside Baghdad, the weather's been great and the air mostly clean. But I fear our time will come. Not soon, I hope. Meanwhile I try not to think about it.
ReplyDeletePaleoclimatology suggests nearly all the West will become a desert, as in ages past. Will there remain any moist cool sweet spots? Probably, but it's hard to figure out where.

"I have absolutely no sympathy for human beings whatsoever. None. And no matter what kind of problem humans are facing, whether it’s natural or man-made, I always hope it gets worse."
ReplyDelete-George Carlin (In one of his final HBO specials.)
I've been reading on the climate history of North America.
ReplyDeleteThe West has been mostly desert since it's shallow inland sea/ocean dried up. The eras like our current fertility comes, and goes through the ages. Depending on the climate,...ahem.
Different places fertile at different times.
What is now Arizona was once as lush as New England.
However deserts are the general default western norm.
With our help it seems to be going back to default mode again.
As for our Uncle George.
I can't argue with the guy. He was always on the money. Especially when investigating the vast stupidity of a certain species of bald monkey.
