There's reasons super heroes are part of our mythology. Life is bleeping hard the guys in charge are insane crooks, and nothing is funny. So people need gawds or champions. Me I'd settle for a sunny day a decent pastrami on rye mustard, and a root beer to go please. All that at the beach while listening to the '57 Dodgers on a vintage transistor radio.
Brooklyn believed in the Dodgers. They were the glue that held the diverse Holy Roman Empire style culture of Brooklyn together. After they betrayed us, and walked out we were never the same. That event is mourned to this day.
