The Navy this Summer again admitted as it did last year. That it's carrier jet fighters have been tangling with UFO's. Even issued more footage. Amazingly this got lost in all the demented static of our times. If this happened when I was a kid it'd be front page news everywhere.

...aw well.
Anyway here above an encounter over Ohio, May 1956. It was not so unusual for cold war era fighter jets to be scrambled to check out "Unknowns" that showed up on radar. At the time we were expecting surprise attacks by Russian bombers. Btw I founded the Nazareth High School "UFO Club" in 1967. One of my life's proudest moments.

    Especially the famous 100 or Century Series.

    F-100..101 102 104 105 etc. I built models of all of them.
    When I was 11 I sat in the cockpit of a NY National Guard F-104.

    My day camp visited a Guard display at Idywild later JFK. A pilot picked me up, and sat me in the cockpit. He was so cool. Kindnesses live a lifetime.
