A video, below, a pal made of some of my crap.
No one watched or liked it.
No one listened to my radio programs.
No one listened to the later pods,
and no one reads my stories.
The was no sex murder or car chases in any of it.
Fuck'em.
I'll make shit anyway.
It's the same here.
ReplyDeleteAt my online most successful I had half a million unique views at any given time. This years ago when I did Queer pages. Btw these are modest numbers by today's standards. However then it was respectable.
They came for the porn,...or near porn because I didn't do outright sex works. What I wrote, and others wrote. What ideas we had for another kinder type of world was immaterial to 99.8% of the users.
The wanted naked flesh.
I actually deleted that last Queer page myself because of this.
Some of you suspected this,...you were right. I didn't wish to be a porn page.
Since then it's very rare for me to break 1000 views.
My limit over these post gay page years,...about 200/500 views. I have around 600 today.
It is what it is.
People want titillations.
They want violence hate death body fluids, and hot flesh, and that's all.
I can't, and won't do that.
All you're going to get here are demented posts, and snap shots of dolls. ...okay a rare Queer rant if in the mood.
Hey Uncle,
ReplyDeleteI used to listed to your radio program. Once when I saw P. L. W. I mentioned to him that I would like to meet you. He said "what makes you think Sidney would want to meet you?" I really thought that was a nutty reply.
Actually I was mostly uncomfortable meeting listeners.
ReplyDeleteI was grateful they were there. However I knew I could never be what they expected. Radio is 'supposed' to be a mystery.
A voice in the night.
If I had active fans that wanted to see me I might have stopped broadcasting. The reasons are complex, but comes down to what I saw of the behavior of my colleagues at 'BAI, and other stations.
An off putting arrogance.
They would make fun of their listeners even toss un-opened mail from them into the trash. That, and put the hit on attractive listeners that came by. If this was fame they could have it. It brought out the ugliest part of people I had once respected.
I wasn't going there.
