"Renewed"

I was just watching one of my fav Sci/Fi live streams. The vlogger announced that Fox renewed the "Orville".

Good.

It's as close to real Star Trek as there is out there.
I mean they took the trouble to write weird witty funny scary stories. This with characters developed over two seasons.  We actually care about them.

The CBS abortion Discovery is a dark violent ugly load of shit with nothing to do with 'Trek other than the title.
Stories of outright cruelty vivid torture scenes betrayals, and planetary genocide. The captain is a homicidal sociopath,...nice huh?

You not only don't care about the characters, but fans regularly post how they hope the ship blows up, and they all get killed.

Anyway our vlogger pal said he'd cry tears of joy about Orville, but was too happy. He also said, and this is the point.

"We should all cry in the shower every morning."
"This to mourn our coming day of wage slavery."

Indeed comrade weep.

Then revolt! Charge the gated communities drag them all out, and make them eat poodle shit! ...without napkins.

Still glad to hear about Orville.

  2. Discovery sounds like what I've heard about the recent Marvel comics movie: a reflection of and propaganda for what our political culture has become since 9/11, a cynically violent sadistic warlike torture state. I've also read that the "Avengers" movie propagates the idea that any suggestion that human overpopulation might present ecological problems is the moral equivalent to Nazism, with the implication that more consumerists in a global consumer society are equal to goodness and light. So our pop culture is thoroughly corrupt. Even Game of Thrones strikes me as cold at heart; too much murder.

I'm afraid it seems to me likely that total unemployment will come, if at all, in the form of Universal Basic Income in a cashless electronic form where our every transaction is monitored by a digital panopticon. But I hope I'm not getting you down.

More and more I am convinced that freedom, even that of information, must come in some kind of tangible embodied form.
