Aspects of life in the new Climate are a marvel to experience.
Everything is literally Hot to the Touch.
Everything.
The bricks, and granite of every building.
The lamp posts, and everything metal stings with heat.
The asphalt beneath us soft.
The air thick the winds burning.
The Cicada's in full choral symphony.
A whole World Enflamed.
"Turning and turning in the widening gyre
ReplyDeleteThe falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity."
-W. B. Yeats
As it's always been.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the end. It's never the end.
Eternity goes on.
This is just another change. One we may or may not survive.
We came through the Ice Age more capable than when we went in. We could well do this again in this new climate age.
We'll see.
Please do not forget that all species go extinct. 99% of all species that have lived on earth are now extinct. Some say that man's "reason" will save him; just look around you to see what man's "reason" has done! Man may well be the first species to actually have a hand in causing his own extinction.
ReplyDeleteUm I think there was a plant a zillions years ago that did the same. In any case as a species I wouldn't be surprised if we hung on in some manner.
ReplyDeleteNo civilization, and perhaps evolved to less intelligence. Nature is self correcting. In our case too much intelligence cased a bit of a stink. So this may get "fixed".
Some branch of what was humanity may be hanging around back in the trees likely if one looked in say 3 or 4 millions years from now.
...or not.
Either way as you say we all go eventually.
Even the blameless Lady Bug has a shelf-life.
Till then we play.
