'Seven' dead 22 wounded including three State troopers.  

Alabama last night today Texas. The areas have in common that they're open carry red states. They're economically stressed, and it's very hot, and humid outside. Not a hopeful combination of circumstances.

For a mad suicidal species we seemed to have accomplished much. Still it can be argued that civilization in it's truest sense ended 5000 years ago. This with the founding of the first villages then city states.
Since then we've been doing something entirely different.

This just in. Staten Island is listed as the 14th most desired vacation spot on earth. Well something like that. Some new tour site listed S.I. as some place to go. It didn't mention many details. However the Staten Island Ferry goes there,...then leaves. 

It voted for Trump. The only part of the City that did. Also it tried to secede from NYC when we elected our first Black Mayor. In the 1950's/60's when blacks tried to move in their houses were burned down. 
Other than all that, and the mosquitos I'm sure it's swell. 

In fact I've an old radio pal that lived there,...then moved. He moved to South Carolina where it's safe for Coloreds. Above the Staten Island end of the Verrazano Bridge.

One of the down sides of being a shut in that sleeps all the time is that you miss stuff. Like what happened at WBDJ-TV this afternoon. A multi gun shoot-out from pissed off fired staff.

I actually am hesitant to leave my home for fear I'll be shot dead by a policeman for no reason. Well there's other stuff too like snakes reptilians disguised as hot dog vendors, and of course direct hits by kitchen sinks or grand pianos falling out of the blue, and apparent innocent sky.

Having spent more than half my life in that Biz. I've seen my share of violent events in, and around the studios. Violent assaults sexual harassment suicide attempts. I'll draw a curtain over the specifics for the sake of the privacy of the persons involved.

Like at the ill-fated TV stations,...and not a few radio outlets. Acts of violence intimidation, and a general toxic atmosphere are not unusual in such work places today. Mercifully they don't always erupt into mass murder.

However,...yeah here it comes, with all the guns out there from school yards to board rooms it's no surprise that when the shit truly hits the fan some one or ones gets shot the fuck dead.

Gun Control?

Rational 'Regulation' is the only way out. Fortunately the majority of gun owners agree. Sadly the NRA, and the assorted Nazi survivalist don't.

They have power far beyond their numbers because of the money that supports them in their holy work. That, and the religious fervor of how these folks feel about "Guns'n Jesus".

It's a long story.

That's where we are, and have been for decades politically, and centuries culturally.

If anybody has any ideas about this I'm listening.

I'm staying home watching videos about Japanese vending machine culture. Out in the world interests are more calm temperate less bloody. Most of them having had WW2 fought on their front lawns. They've no interests in anymore vast bloodletting,...at least not that close to home. 

From YouTube Germany I watch videos of RC model trams trains trucks, and buses. This seems a popular pass time. Here for fun we cage brown children in Internment camps. We have continuous mass killings cops, and assorted vigilantes randomly shoot unarmed black people dead. Of course Queer bashing is an ongoing national sport.
