I HAVE BECOME ANGRY.
VERY ANGRY.

  1. Me too. When I waken feeling severely underrested at 4:00 AM the negativity that sometimes floods my mind can be horrific. At such times, ice cream would help a lot.

  2. I too, along with several of my more thoughtful friends, both young and old, feel quite distressed most of the time. It's kind of a hopelessness that has overtaken us, and yes, it is having a profound effect on my sleep lately. Hell... it is even having a disturbing effect on my time while awake. Life has become joyless.

  3. "Horrific",..."Joyless".

Glad we're all on the same page.

  4. Many countries, including quite a few poor ones, now have better prospects than the USA. Inequality is exploding here, the social fabric has rotted right through, our way of life is a lie: and it shows. I imagine this is why we're depressed.

    I hope to move abroad.

    1. Where would you consider moving to Z? Most of the desirable destinations in the world in which to live have gone the route of Amerika. Maybe not quite as bad yet, but headed in the same direction. But let me know your thoughts on foreign countries in which to settle.

    2. Our destiny is likely to be worse than that of most comparable countries. They are not all the same.

It depends what you want, what is your source of income, and what you're willing to do to adapt to another culture. Are you on a fixed income? In that case you want a place with a low cost of living. Will you need to work abroad? Some professions travel better than others. Can you wangle a student visa? That's an excellent way to get a foot in the door. Are you willing to learn a foreign language? In most cases it's a make or break item.

For anyone who's serious about this, there's some homework ahead. One way to get a sense of what various countries are like is to check out videos by people who've moved there. I've found quite a few online. For comparative costs of living, check out numbeo(dot)com. You can find articles on gay life in various countries online too.

  5. I understand. If I were young in my early 20's I would totally just leave, and never look back.

The Canadian North West Territory looks good. I was reading on it watch videos. There's almost no one there. Sounds good to me.

As a young broadcast tech with the CBC at a small downlink or station in relatively pristine country,...yeah I could get used to it.

  6. As it is I'm walking dead in a dead country just waiting my fucking turn. I called that suicide hotline again. Got into a chat with some gal about the right to fucking die cause.

She said she understood...took balls since they ain't supposed to say shit like that. A good kid she.

    1. Good for her.

The best thing for your frame of mind? Shut off the fucking news. Stick to ice cream, your favorite vids and whatever else makes you happy.

You don't need to know what's coming down the pike because (A) we already know the general outline and (B) there isn't fuck-all we can do about it. Only the delusional think that electoral politics can save us, and it is worse than useless to worry about things over which we have no control. Therefore give yourself all the bread and circuses you can get. If you want to be more socially responsible than that, make that pervy book you were contemplating. Future generations of perverts will be glad you did. Digital is doomed; analog forever!

  7. I'm holding up the best I can.
I have a mental image of myself in the trenches of the Somme. Just sitting waiting. While waiting I sing. Sing of kindness laughter, and beauty.

  8. I went, and brought some ice cream, and cookies from the all night deli just now...this may help a bit.

  9. I can understand the impulse to chow down on some cookies. In fact I am going to get some right now.
