Deep in the article it mentions that 4,000 Swedes have already chosen to be chipped. Oh, and elsewhere I've read that in that country as well as in Denmark they're well on the way to eliminating cash, so that all transactions will be electronic.
I wonder what the social credit rating of a queer pornographer would be?

In the gentrified parts of the city stores some no longer accept cash. Then got rid of their clerks, and only had armed security there. Soon they'll go too.
ReplyDeleteYou go in, and the door senses your phone or card or whatever. You pick, and bag what you want. Then walk out the door the charge deducted from one of your accounts.
If you're working poor an elder or just not on the grid,...tough. I guess that's what security is still there for.
The point is the economy is now openly disposing of whole populations. This in favor of the middle to high end consumer. Btw that middle is soon gone as well.

ReplyDeleteYou describe a near-perfect fusion of AI, robotics and neoliberal economics. The only flaw, as you rightly point out, is the security guards. Employing people is so twentieth century. Hopefully they'll be replaced by robots armed with hypodermics, tasers and microwave weapons. Also the doors should be set to snap shut at an instant's notice so they can gas you. This should be particularly useful for nabbing people with outstanding debt on their credit cards.
