"45rpm"

Race attitudes are complex. Difficult irrational contradictory. I have bits of racist resentments with other groups, but know it's nut so deal with it. Some are just not good at the dealing.

Brit rock star "Morrissey" is mixed up in anti-immigrant race hate groups. He was outted when they thanked him for his support. This has some folks stunned.

It's sad when someone you really dig breaks your heart.

I came across statements negative about the "Freedmen". That is the post civil war former slaves. This alleged to have been said by Walt Whitman. Yeah 'that' Uncle Walt. ...this in a current New Yorker.

This makes him less saintly, and more like the rest of us. Which of course always he was. Life is complicated, and tough. Being a peacenik I urge compassion, and forgiveness. This as I would also want it for myself.

  1. I gather Whitman also made some denigrating comments about American Indians, too. All our idols have feet of clay. But nobody's perfect, you know, and maybe it's not too reasonable of us to demand that they be so.

I know nothing about Morrissey, but before buying the line that he's a racist fascist so-and-so, I would do a bit of a research project. What exactly did he say or do? What views does he in fact support? Are there any videos of him saying it? I wouldn't believe it just because the Guardian or the BBC said so. Those outfits are as dishonest in their way as Fox. Have they ever been fair to BLs?

  2. About Whitman he was a man of his times,...good, and bad.
He only saw, and knew what was there before him. Thus was no Angel...at least not as much as we thought.

However like a few he saw some brief sparks of the future.

Regards Morrissey there's a paper trail.
Whereas he doesn't wear a white hood. He was involved at least online with anti-immigrant folks, and groups. One inadvertently outted him by thanking him for his support.

Britain is a small island that was mostly mono-cultural despite it's Empire. Since the 20th century much has come home to roost from many lands. The locals have since gone hostilely tribal about this.

Expect more as peoples move to high ground. Where there's less wars, and more food, and water. The pattern of this century is taking shape before our eyes.

This will not be looked back on as a kindly era.

  3. I've looked into the matter of Morrissey. Turns out the political organization he supports is something called For Britain. This is headed by an Irish woman, one Anne Marie Waters. Rather than take the word of some news organization, I prefer to go to the source and see what such a person actually says. So here are some vids of Ms. Waters airing her views:

"Islam is not a peaceful religion" -

"Should Muslim girls be banned from wearing veils in Britain?"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qtDDDmQXtA

There are a bunch more if you dial her up, including the full debate at the Oxford Union.

I haven't yet heard enough to decide what I think of her or Morrissey, but personally I'm not going to let the Mendacity Industry make up my mind for me through Trial by Media. As I mentioned before, look how fair that's been to BLs. Look how fair the largely media-driven #MeToo frenzy was to Garrison Keillor or Kevin Spacey. I think it's better to look at the facts as directly as possible, not through the mediation of a global army of professional liars whose only reason for existence is to help the ruling class maintain its grip on power.
