"Plastic Jack Boots"

As ya knows I was or still am sort of a scale model fan. Been building the things since I was six. ...see above. Which comes to what,...63 years?!!

It's my comfort zone or one of them anyway. So I used to visit loads of online sites on the subject. Some are swell. Old fucks sitting around online in their underwear around the world talking shop about kits. That, and memories of when Hobby Shops were common. ...and affordable.

Plastic kits are made with petroleum products. So in the 1970's the prices exploded. Been going to hell ever since. 
Back when cars had fins there were only 4 or 5 local TV channels, and we were still a united country. 

Back then a kit cost one to at most five dollars. Today they could be as much as $40 to $60 bucks. Some up to several hundred bucks.
'Not counting the tools paints extra bits, and bobs to make it cooler.

It's no wonder kids haven't gone near this crap for near 40 years. Also why boomers are the only people mostly that still bother with it. This brings me to the point.

Boomers are 'not' ex-hippies. 

That movement was very tiny, and quickly co-opted into a joke. Many boomers were Nazi Klan friendly racist fuck heads in the 60's, and are more so now. Some in the kit community are Nazi fan boys. I'd put it at 30%. Same as #45's numbers.

This gleeful bunch build kits of Nazi hardware, and often dream of worlds where they won. "Man in the High Castle" stuff.

The '46 models, see above, are a whole subset of the craft. That's a world where it took several years longer to hang all them Nazi fucks. So they made scary jets to shoot down the Allied air force.

Them Nazi Boomers love that idea.

Holocaust denial also crops up now, and then. Granted the site mods try to keep a handle on the worst of it.

However the stink is always there. 
I've had to leave, and even block once cool sites that them 4th Reich jerks took over. They make me embarrassed to be a Boomer.

On the up side 

Not too many Angel, and Faerie sites have Nazis in them. This is part of my comfort zone too. I post my faggy sissy faerie shit there to the gleeful joy of the fans. See above, others do the same.

Though I would be curious to see what Nazi Angel's or Faeries would look like. Also what Bizzaro rationalization it's fans would have for it. 

I seriously loves the whole Sci/Fi comic book model train dolls realms too. Wonderfully weird, and fun,...mostly. A lot of Corporate shit is wrecking a bunch of it these days though.
