"Blam!"

Everywhere all over the 'net on every kind of site from political historical technical to cooking gardening or literary. I see that the comments sections are dumpster fires of rage. These days folks have seriously short fuses, and basically hate each other's guts. I'm tempted myself as my fuse is now non-existent. I just point out our common problem these days. This is clearly not sustainable. Sooner or later there has to be a cease fire or some sort of online treaty. If not folks are going to get hurt. Chill. It's just shit on the fucking computer.
Have ice cream watch a movie get laid pray get high, but ease off on the rage.

I was going to post this on Facebook but it, and Google have mostly crashed today,...again.

  2. Pretty much.

Like racist incidents there may not be more of them, but we're seeing more of what there is. With everybody with a TV camera, and the means to beam images to the whole world in their pocket we're seeing wild even ugly shit all over the place.

It was always going on it's just now both the victim perpetrators, and by standers are shooting it around the world...even in real time.

So it might be that being trapped in civilization we were always in a seething rage. However now we have a worldwide means of venting it,...and we are.

Time was you could just not read the paper or just turn off the TV or radio with their hand full of stations. Now the evil demented shit is everywhere. Yeah it always was but now our faces are rubbed in it 24/7.

So yeah we're going fucking nuts.

  3. Anonymity has something to do
with it. When you're talking with people face-to-face, there are social consequences for being a jerk; not so online. The best run forums I know are moderated.

Also, JG Ballard was right. In fact it was already true when he wrote it; just more so now. He saw where the trend line was going.
